Standards

    Use information gained from illustrations (e.g., maps, photographs) and the words in a text to demonstrate understanding of the text (e.g., where, when, why, and how key events occur).

  2. Oklahoma Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS): Language Arts > G.7 > RL > S.5 > O.2

    Interpreting Information - The student will analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

    1. Record, organize, and display relevant information from multiple sources in systematic ways (e.g., outlines, graphic organizers, or note cards).
    2. Interpret and use graphic sources of information such as graphs, maps, timelines, or tables, to address research questions.
    3. Analyze and paraphrase or summarize information gathered from a variety of sources into a research paper.
    4. Determine the appropriateness of an information source for a research topic.
    5. Identify and credit the sources used to gain information for both quoted and paraphrased information in a bibliography using a consistent format.

    Select, organize, or produce visuals such as maps, charts, graphics, video segments, or technology presentations to complement and extend meaning for a selected topic.
