Promoting a Process Approach

Larry emphasizes the implementation of RCD is a continuous process taking years to fully implement. Even then, its continuous improvement is ongoing beyond that.

Discuss briefly a strategy one might employ to help educators buy into being fully engaged in a professional, continuous process instead of the common event-based process.

Relating to the Seven Steps Forward

GarySm.jpg

ALCA is promoting the Seven Steps Forward model. The headings of the Component table are color coded to match the primary step addressed by the column. These include Mapping (1st column), Curriculum (2nd), Assessments (3rd), and Data (4th). However, the remaining Steps (i.e., Standards - standard practices, vocabulary, resources; Planning instruction and PD, and Strategies for learning and professional growth) are also essential.

Take one of the remaining three not listed and discuss how it plays a role in the four that are listed.
