Students will examine pollution, EPA regulations, take notes to compare later with natural gas power plant @ Mooreland, etc.
 
Student will explore the science and regulations that help keep the environment clean from petrolium products. Student will research Tulsa area policy and on going controversy often driven by local landfill companies.  EPA regulations concerning incinerators and management of such a facility.
 

1. Leave Enid High @ 7:30  [Meet bus/van on East side infront of University Center.]

2. Arrive Sooner Lake @ 8:30

3. Tour Sooner Lake Power Plant ~ 8:45-10:00

4. Leave Sooner Lake to McDonalds on Turnpike for an early lunch ~10:15 or so

5. Tour at Catoosa around 11:00-12:15.  (TBA? for sure).

6. Arrive at Covanta Plant @ ~ 2:00 - 3:00

7. Leave Covanta Plant by 3:00

8. Arrive EHS about 5:30

    Sooner Coal-Power Plant / Covanta Energy Scavenger Plant

    All students should be focused on energy conversion from one form to another and the infrastructure required to accomplish the conversion.  In addition, APES students should also focus on the source of the fuel used (e.g., where did it come from, how much is used), EPA regulations, pollutants and their control and ramifications.
