Step 3: Assessment
High quality assessments are essential for clearly gaging students' depth of knowledge of standards and objectives. ALCA school districts have the capability of creating and sharing assessments in the form of online tests, rubrics and portfolios. As of August 2007, educators can create tests for use as review or incorporate into course in ALCA to document student performance throughout the year.
ALCA intends to launch an initiative during the 2007/2008 school year to facilitate a collaboration of school districts and teachers in the development of test items to be used to support review and/or benchmark assessments.
