Curriculum

Step 2: Curriculum

Step 2 emphasizes curriculum and the instructional strategies used to implement your continuous improvement plan. Using Comprehend Mapping, a standards and DoK-based diary of activities can be created for an entire year. Reports and charts provide an ongoing status of how standards and objectives are being addressed by teacher, subject, site and district. This information is used to reflect on how testing blueprint standards are being taught by teachers and mastered by students.
Diverse curriculum content including 14 online resource types and over 40 uploadable file types can be created and linked to map activities. The diary and consensus map activities including linked resources can be shared within and across school districts.

    Standards Cluster Excel Files (CRT/EOI)

    PASS Clustering

This folder contains Excel files that may be used to track PASS standards and/or objectives covered through the duration of one school year. It may be used to:

    1. Determine number of academic school days.
    2. Determine percent and number of days required, based on blueprints and given number of academic school days that specific objectives should be addressed.
    3. Determine the number of days/events remaining based on percentage of academic school days and required due to blueprints that specific objectives should be addressed.
    4. Determine percent and number of days required, based on test specifications and given the number of academic school days in which content should be focused on specific depth of knowledge levels.
    5. Determine the number of days/events remaining based on percentage of academic and school days required due to test specifications in which content should focused on specific depth of knowledge levels.
    6. Create a bar graph showing blueprint requirements and actual percentage of standards/objectives addressed in classroom.
    7. Create a bar graph showing required DoK (Test Specifications document) and actual coverage in classroom.

These tools are strictly intended to provided quantitative data of standards/objectives covered in respective subjects for both CRT and EOI. Usefulness of tool is limited by attentiveness of teacher for keeping accurate records. Quality of instruction, curriculum, timing, etc can not be determined using this tool. It will however help evaluating standards clustering, provide insight for curriculum placement and possible remediation.
