Literacy Kits

This list of literacy strategies has a range of specific tasks that help students process information.  Central to students constructing new knowledge research shows they need to be able to:
  • Ask questions (e.g., construct MC questions)
  • Sort information
  • Construct sequential steps (i.e., algorithms)
  • Utilize Vocabulary
To add depth of understanding the use of modeling should be considered.  This may include:
  • Writing stories
  • Using analogies
  • Drawing illustrations
