A portfolio is a collection of one's work which shows his/her ability in a particular area. This is a handout for students which outlines the expectations and guideline necessary for them to complete a science portfolio. Students can select from a diverse set of portfolio entries to be completed. The handout has deadline listings and includes rubric information for scoring their portfolio items. If you have ever toyed with the idea of adding portfolios to enhance learning in your classroom, this has everything you need.
How does the portfolio help you become an independent learner?
How do the portfolio entries help you to understand concepts better?
How did you choose your portfolio entries? Did you plan ahead so that you could do the less time consuming entries during busy times and the more time consuming during less busy times?
Did you record due dates in your student planner?
Students will assemble a collection of their work which will show their ability in science.
