Teacher Notes

  • Organization of the pictures on the page can be difficult. The younger the children the harder it is to place them across the page.

  • At times, the children have trouble limiting the sound to the "beginning" sound.

  • Children in "after-school" programs have fun with this lesson.

  • Duration: 2 sessions of 20-30 minutes each.  One session for the creation of the stamps and the other session for group decoding.

Mentor Notes

  • Your child has been learning to use the Kid Pix Deluxe Program. Kid Pix is a simple, inexpensive program that is not limited to school use.

  • The children are using the Kid Pix Stamp Tool to reinforce their ability to hear and locate beginning sounds. The children were listening for the sounds found in their names and were looking for pictures with the same sounds.
