3.01.03 What's My Slope.doc
This lesson is a student self-paced assignment that uses digital pictures of the studentâs real world to have them investigate slope. Three different types of real-world images will be used; sign shapes, letter shapes, and roof edges. They will use Scion Imaging software to draw vertical and horizontal lines and then, using the measurement tool, determine the changes in vertical distance and horizontal distance to compute the slope of the edge or line. Two critical topics of slope are explored; the slope of any given line has the same value no matter where you take the measurements, and parallel lines have the same slope.
