Cornell Notes is a commonly used strategy to record and process lecture notes.
Setting Up the Notes
Cornell Note paper is arranged so that on a single 81/2 by 11 sheet of paper there are two columns with a short section at the bottom.
Right Column - Use to record teacher lecture notes or direct observations from text or other source. Left Column - Use to rewrite or illustrate information in your own words. Bottom Section - Summarize information on this page in concise language.
Access
There are three options starting using Cornell Notes.
Simply Fold
Take a 81/2 by 11 sheet of paper and folder to get two columns and a short section at the bottom of the page.
Use the link to access an electronic version of Cornell Notes. One may type notes on their laptop to take notes. Even insert images, website links, etc off the web that help better understand the notes.
Suggestion
Consider in the top right of the page, consider adding the topic, essential question, or big idea that the notes are be covering. This will provide added focus.
