Pyramids

This strategy is used to record and organize information using main headings, sub headings, and supporting details.  It helps students to better comprehend a reading selection.

  1. Reading Selection

    Access the assigned reading text from your teacher.

  2. Reading

    As per teacher guidance read the story or have it read to you.

  3. Story Pyramid

    Construct a Story Pyramind similar to the one below and then provide the indicated information.

    1. Main Character

      Write the name of the main character.

    2. Description

      Two words describing the main character

    3. Setting

      Three words describing the setting

    4. Problem

      Four words stating the story problem

    5. Event

      Five words describing one event in the story

    6. 2nd Event

      Six words describing a second event

    7. 3rd Event

      Seven words describing a third event

    8. Problem Solution

      Eight words describing the solution to the problem.
