Double Entry Journals

  1. Text Source

    In the top, right corner of your journal page, write the text source (e.g., magazine, book, web site, page number).

  2. Important Ideas

    Jot down, on left top side of your journal page, important ideas from the text read.

  3. Summarize Important Ideas

    Below the list of important ideas, summarize them.

  4. Reflection

    On the right half of the journal page, write your own thoughts and responses (e.g., questions, confusions, personal reactions on what the information on the left side of page means.

  5. Teacher Notes

    Click on the picture to get a better idea of what to do.
