Community

What is an ALCA Community?

An ALCA Community is a Professional Learning Community (PLC). The PLC can consist of a K-12 school district, Career Tech site, or Higher Education institution.

Other ALCA Communities exist which support life-long learning within a particular context. The learning context may be for a city, an education-oriented non-profit, or even a for-profit providing educational opportunities to its employees.

An ALCA Community consists of Rooms. Rooms can be linked to each other forming the navigational structure of the Community.

In turn, these rooms are associated with Organizations.
Rooms associated with a particular Organization have their
own look or branding.

A community user can be a member of one or more
Organizations. They can also be a member in one or more
rooms for more focused activities.
